The White House is insisting that Donald Trump’s vision of Apple’s flagship iPhones being manufactured in the US will come to fruition, despite assertions from analysts and the company itself that it would not be possible.
The US does not have the workforce of other nations where the majority of electronics are currently manufactured, such as China, India, and Vietnam, making it challenging to fulfill Trump's vision.
Past statements from Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, and the late Steve Jobs suggest that the US lacks the highly trained personnel required for iPhone manufacturing that can be found in countries like China.
Experts believe that tariffs alone will not incentivize Apple to manufacture products in the US, as it requires significant time, investment, and training to reach the production levels of other countries.
