Dominic McLaughin has been chosen to play the lead role of Harry Potter in HBO's upcoming series, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
McLaughlin, a Scottish child actor, participated in an open casting call for the role and has previous experience in the upcoming Sky Original film 'Grow'.
Apart from the Harry Potter series, McLaughlin will also appear in the BBC show 'Gifted' based on Marilyn Kaye's novels, showcasing a diverse group of young Scottish teens with unique superpowers.
The forthcoming Sky Original film 'Grow,' in which McLaughlin stars, revolves around a giant pumpkin-growing contest and features Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. McLaughlin will be seen as Oliver Gregory in this comedy film.
