Former Intel India country head, Avtar Saini, tragically passed away after being struck by a speeding cab while cycling in Navi Mumbai.
Saini, an electrical engineering graduate from VJTI Mumbai and the University of Minnesota, played a pivotal role in shaping microprocessor technology during his two-decade tenure at Intel.
His leadership was instrumental in the development of groundbreaking processors like the Intel 386, 486, and the iconic Pentium processor.
Additionally, Saini contributed to the early phases of Intel's 64-bit architecture, the Itanium Processor, leaving a lasting legacy as a pioneer in the field of microprocessor design and development.
