Whoop users are upset after the company reneged on its promise of a free hardware upgrade following six months of membership.
The manufacturer had initially confirmed the offer, but has now changed its policy quietly post the launch of Whoop 5.0.
The online backlash has been quick, with Reddit users labeling the move as a betrayal.
Customers who were led to believe they would receive the new version of the device at no extra cost are now required to either extend their membership by 12 months or pay a one-time fee for the upgrade.
