The upcoming sequel to Wicked, titled 'Wicked: For Good', features Dorothy wearing silver heels instead of the iconic ruby red slippers.
Universal may not have been allowed to use the red slippers as they are associated with the original Wizard of Oz movie, currently owned by Warner Bros.
Director Jon M. Chu decided to steer away from the ruby shoes, opting to reference them instead in the Popular musical number in the first movie.
Despite the differences, these Wizard of Oz adaptations continue to draw inspiration from the original film which remains influential to the story. 'Wicked: For Good' is set to release on Nov. 21.
