Windows 10 diehards can keep their beloved OS secure for a little (for a fee) while longer as Microsoft pleas with them to be reasonable

  • Microsoft is offering an Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10 users who are unwilling or unable to upgrade to Windows 11 after support ends in 2025.
  • The ESU program will provide an additional year of security updates for Windows 10, but no new features.
  • Users can enroll in the program for $30, and it will be available near the end-of-support deadline in October 2025.
  • This is an effort by Microsoft to keep Windows 10 users secure while encouraging them to upgrade to Windows 11.
