Windows 10 has received a new update (KB5060533 for 22H2) that reintroduces the feature of displaying seconds when viewing time in the calendar panel.
However, a new addition promotes Bing and Edge in the calendar panel off the taskbar, where popular public events and reminders now appear with Bing search results and open in Microsoft Edge browser.
Despite user preferences for default search engines and browsers, clicking on events in the calendar panel redirects users to Bing and Edge, not respecting their choices.
Microsoft fails to mention this change in the update notes, impacting its reputation negatively and raising concerns as Windows 10 is nearing its end of life (October 2025).
The unexpected push for Bing and Edge on Windows 10 users could potentially cause reputational damage for Microsoft without clear benefits as the OS approaches its end.
