Wipro Enterprises has permanently shut down its manufacturing unit in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, resulting in mass layoffs.The decision to close the factory follows six months of labour unrest and a workers' strike that began in December 2024.The closure was due to operational disruptions, financial losses, and economic unsustainability cited by Wipro.Despite ongoing negotiations, the inability to reach a settlement led to protests and complaints from the workers' union.
