Wisk, a leading designer of eVTOL air taxis, has signed a deal with the City of Sugar Land near Houston, TX for drone passenger service.
Wisk and the city will establish a vertiport at the Sugar Land Regional Airport, serving as the hub for a wider eVTOL network in the greater Houston region.
Tentative plans for vertiports at four other locations on the outskirts of Houston, including Woodlands and Galleria, are in place.
Wisk aims to offer autonomous or pilot-less flights and plans to have its first eVTOLs ready for experimental flights by the end of 2028.
