Workday is expanding its presence in India by setting up a local data centre and strengthening its sales operations, aiming to better serve both global and local customers seeking to modernize their operations.
The company plans to offer services from an India-based data centre starting in the first half of 2026, allowing Indian customers to deploy Workday HCM, Financial Management, and Adaptive Planning on AWS located in India.
The move will ensure data residency compliance and provide critical assurance to businesses operating in India's regulatory landscape, enhancing the adoption of Workday services in the region.
Workday's investments in India include establishing a GCC in Chennai, expanding its presence with almost 700 employees, and appointing a dedicated country leader, demonstrating the company's deepening commitment to the Indian market.
