Mwamba Mining has been recognized in a World Gold Council report for its innovative approach to mercury-free gold processing in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) operations.
The report highlighted Mwamba's processing plant, Buziba, in Tanzania, which commenced operations in 2024 with plans to expand its processing capacity to 1,000 tonnes daily by the end of 2025.
Mwamba sources ore through partnerships with licensed ASGM mine site operators and aims to purchase tailings from local processing plants to enhance environmental sustainability.
The company's technology aims to boost gold recovery rates, increase miners' incomes, align with LBMA standards, and address environmental challenges associated with artisanal mining in Tanzania.
