World of Warcraft has introduced a player housing system after 20 years, learning from mistakes made by other MMORPGs like Final Fantasy 14.
The game will have infinite neighbourhoods that expand as they fill up, allowing players to purchase houses without encountering a full capacity message.
Neighbourhoods include public, guild, and charter options, with guild neighbourhoods offering homes for everyone in the guild and charter neighbourhoods being private.
Quality-of-life improvements include saved house states upon moving or being kicked from a guild, as well as monthly activities called Endeavours with tasks tailored to a neighbourhood's size and activity level.
