X is now allowing select creators to upload videos in 4K resolution to enhance user engagement and prevent them from using other platforms for viewing videos.
The feature will be initially available to premium subscribers before being extended to all users, according to X's engineering account.
Previously, subscribers could upload videos in 1080p resolution up to 8GB in size, but with the addition of 4K support, there may be changes in the size limit.
X, under new ownership by Elon Musk, has been encouraging more video uploads by increasing upload limits and introducing features like a dedicated feed for vertical videos.
