Raphael Colantonio, founder of Arkane, criticizes Xbox Game Pass as an unsustainable model damaging the video games industry for a decade.
Colantonio believes Game Pass is subsidized by Microsoft's 'infinite money' and could potentially harm other industry models.
He suggests that although gamers currently enjoy Game Pass due to its good offer, they may eventually realize the negative impacts on quality of games.
Arkane is now owned by Microsoft, and Colantonio has left to lead WolfEye Studios. Microsoft's recent staff layoffs may affect around 4% of its workforce, with cancellations of titles like Everwild and the Perfect Dark reboot.
