On Dec. 10, 2024, the New York Department of Financial Services approved Ripple’s new stablecoin, RLUSD, on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum blockchains.
RLUSD officially launched on Dec. 17 and is now available on exchanges like Uphold, MoonPay, Archax, Bitso, CoinMENA, Bullish, and Independent Reserve.
RLUSD is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar and is backed by U.S. dollar reserves, government bonds, and cash equivalents.
Ripple's XRP has experienced a recent price recovery, with large investors accumulating tokens, potentially triggering a price rally. If the momentum continues, XRP may aim for $5.
