YouTube updates its YouTube Partner Program guidelines to demonetize channels relying entirely on AI-generated content to crack down on 'inauthentic' and repetitive content.
Starting July 15, creators will no longer be able to monetize such content, reflecting the need to identify mass-produced and repetitious content better.
The update clarifies that the change is a 'minor update' to the existing guidelines rather than a significant policy shift, aimed at weeding out spam-like content.
YouTube's move comes amidst a rise in low-quality AI-generated content termed as 'AI slop,' prompting the platform to introduce clearer guidelines to remove such creators from the YouTube Partner Program.
