Google is bringing Lens to YouTube Shorts, allowing users to search for information about items in videos such as landmarks, plants, and animals.
To use Lens on YouTube Shorts, users can pause a video, select the Lens option, and search for objects by drawing, highlighting, or tapping on them within the video.
This feature is currently in beta and available on iOS and Android, excluding shorts with YouTube Shopping affiliate links or paid product promotions.
Lens leverages computer vision technology to search for images, objects, and text. It can be accessed through the Google app or Chrome app on the iPhone, and is also available in other Google services like Google Photos.
