The Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, is a new major cultural and civic institution in Guangming District, China, showcasing scientific achievements and innovation.
The museum features a spherical form facing the city and undulating terraces overlooking the park, wrapped in a dual-colored stainless-steel skin with a celestial bodies-inspired gradient.
Spanning over 128,000 square meters, it includes permanent and temporary galleries, immersive theaters, research labs, educational facilities, galleries extending from walls and floors, and innovative visitor amenities.
Designed as an architectural anchor, the museum integrates sustainable measures, such as a ventilated facade, rooftop photovoltaics, and water recycling systems, aiming for China’s top green building rating.
