ZEISS India plans to double its workforce by 2028 with the launch of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru.
Currently employing 2,500 people, the lens manufacturer aims to enhance software maintenance, governance, and development. Karnataka’s IT minister Priyank Kharge inaugurated the GCC, aligning with the state’s goal to establish 500 new GCCs and create 3,50,000 jobs in five years.
The GCC complements ZEISS’s Rs 2,500 crore lens manufacturing facility in Devanahalli, set for completion by 2025. ZEISS also plans to bolster AI-driven R&D and support startups, reinforcing its leadership in optical technology and commitment to India’s innovation ecosystem.
