Zerodha, India’s largest stock brokerage, has announced a $1 million FLOSS Fund to support open source projects globally.
The fund will provide structured financial support, offering a minimum of $10,000 and up to $100,000 to each recipient.
Zerodha aims to address the lack of financial sustainability for FOSS projects, which have played a crucial role in the company's success.
The fund will be operated like an Open Source Program Office (OSPO) and will accept applications through a new system implementing a 'funding.json' format.
