Zig-Zag Resort in Himare, Albania, designed by JA Joubert Architecture and UNS Architects, adopts a linear zig-zag configuration that follows the existing topography.
The resort preserves views across the site, minimizes landscape alterations, and incorporates passive environmental strategies such as solar orientation and rainwater management.
Circulation within the resort is organized for intuitive movement, with vertical transitions addressed through pathways and a funicular system, maintaining a cohesive relationship between building and site.
Interior spaces extend into gardens and terraces, infinity pools blend with the coastline, and the architectural design aims to respond to the coastal landscape harmoniously.
