Zoho-backed Silectric has received approval from the Karnataka government to set up a semiconductor manufacturing facility with an investment of ₹3,425.6 Cr.
The facility will be located at the Kochanahalli electronics manufacturing cluster near Mysuru and is expected to create 460 jobs.
Silectric aims to develop a silicon carbide-based fabrication facility and build a complete silicon carbide manufacturing value chain.
The move aligns with Karnataka's efforts to become a hub for electronics manufacturing and India's growing semiconductor market.
