The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) antitrust trial against Meta, formerly known as Facebook, started with a significant revelation.
During the trial, a 2012 email from Mark Zuckerberg was presented, where he suggested acquiring Instagram to eliminate it as a potential competitor.
The email and other messages presented in court aim to show that Zuckerberg follows a strategy of acquiring rather than competing, potentially violating antitrust laws.
Another message showed Facebook's attempt to purchase Snapchat for $6 billion was also revealed.
