Airwallex Impact: Driving Innovation and Philanthropy in Singapore’s Fintech Ecosystem
- Airwallex is contributing to Singapore’s Fintech ecosystem with its philanthropic arm, Airwallex Impact, which supports startups and encourages innovation and philanthropy through a new long-term plan.
- Through the Pledge 1% movement, Airwallex has committed 1% of its equity, profits, products and employee time, valued at over $56m, to community and philanthropic work.
- Airwallex for Startups programme is also being scaled up in Singapore and Australia, aimed at supporting start-ups and providing mentorship, partner offers and networking opportunities.
- Airwallex Impact is aimed at building a culture of giving in conjunction with financial contributions where employees will be encouraged to spend three days per year volunteering.
- Starting mid-2025, Airwallex will offer discount products to select non-profit organisations with the aim of making cutting-edge fintech tools accessible and affordable.
- The Singapore Fintech Association (SFA) welcomes the launch of Airwallex Impact and highlights Singapore as a key player in driving entrepreneurship linked to social responsibility.
- Airwallex is supporting Singapore’s philanthropy drive by awarding its first SG$10,000 Level-Up Business Grant to NatureThings, a start-up that integrates nature into urban ecosystems for human spatial wellbeing.
- Jack Zhang, CEO and Co-founder of Airwallex, stresses the importance of giving back, highlighting the reward and joy that comes with helping the entire ecosystem to flourish.
- Airwallex’s philanthropic journey began in 2022 with an official partnership with the University of Melbourne to fund scholarships for students. The plan is to expand these efforts to Singapore and beyond, supporting diverse backgrounds students in becoming tomorrow's tech leaders.
