AltStore version 2.0 update released in celebration of 5th anniversary
- The AltStore Team marked the fifth anniversary of the release of AltStore Classic with the rollout of AltStore version 2.0.
- AltStore v2.0 includes a long list of bug fixes as well as new users that port over some of the AltStore PAL platform's key features.
- AltStore users will immediately notice that the Browse tab has been redesigned to include handy new features like the ability to view recently updated apps with streamlined card-like interfaces.
- The update now allows sources to add any third-party source in addition to existing Recommended Sources.
- AltStore ensures that users always know what they're downloading by letting them review important permissions before sideloading apps.
- AltStore users can also donate to developers' Patreons and download Patreon-exclusive apps within the app itself.
- AltStore has increased image caching to reduce the frequency of refetches, added follow buttons to social media, and updated its app icon.
- Existing AltStore users can download version 2.0 directly from within the app, while new users will automatically install version 2.0 upon trying to install the app via AltServer.
- AltStore v2.0 is compatible with all iOS and iPadOS firmware versions, whether they're jailbroken or not.
- Users can browse apps by source or by eight categories and choose alternate app icons in the app's settings.
