Android 16 might introduce its version of iOS StandBy Mode for Google-powered phones, as hinted by code in the Android 16 beta and Google Play Services.
The StandBy Mode would display content on locked, charging devices, similar to the iPhone feature introduced with iOS 17 in 2023.
Additional features expected in Android 16 include the integration of Qi2 wireless charging standard, standby button in the interface, and enhancements to display settings.
More updates on Android 16 are anticipated at the Google I/O 2025 event, which will cover AI, Android, Chrome, and other developments.
