Apple could launch a new low-cost MacBook in 2025 or early 2026 utilizing iPhone chips instead of M-series silicon chips.
The new MacBook is expected to have a 13-inch screen size and might be powered by an Apple A18 Pro chip initially used in the iPhone 16 Pro models.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will offer the low-cost MacBook in silver, blue, pink, and yellow color finishes, with a price tag possibly around $900 or lower.
Apple aims to produce around 20 million MacBook laptops in 2025, with hopes to reach peak shipments of 25 million units in 2026, where the low-cost MacBook could account for 5–7 million units.
