Apple is reportedly making progress on a custom chip for its smart glasses, with production scheduled for late 2026 or early 2027.
The new chipset for the glasses will be based on the efficient S-series chips used in Apple Watch and will support multiple cameras.
The development of microLED displays for Apple's AR glasses is still ongoing, with a possible product launch not expected until 2028 at the earliest.
Apple is also working on a cheaper and lighter Vision Pro 2 headset and a Mac-tethered headset, with plans for a Vision Pro headset release for late 2025 or early 2026.
