Apple has updated its App Store guidelines to comply with a California court order, allowing external payment options.
Developers can now include buttons and links that redirect users to purchasing mechanisms other than in-app purchases for apps on the US storefront.
The changes follow a court ruling where Apple was asked to stop collecting commissions on purchases not made through the App Store.
Epic Games' lawsuit against Apple played a significant role in prompting these updates, with other companies like Spotify also looking to implement similar changes.
