- Apple has announced that using the iCloud Backup feature will soon require iOS 9 or later.
- New iCloud backups on devices with iOS 8 or older will no longer be possible and existing backups will be deleted.
- App data, settings, and uploaded files stored in iCloud will remain intact.
- Users can continue creating local backups on older devices using a computer.
