Astronomers create a ‘weather map’ for a gas giant exoplanet
- Astronomers have constructed the first “weather map” of the exoplanet WASP-127b.
- The planet experiences extreme winds with speeds of up to 33,000 km/hr.
- WASP-127b's poles are cooler, but still extremely hot, and its atmosphere contains water vapor.
- Observations also revealed the presence of carbon monoxide in the planet's atmosphere.
