BASF has expanded its manufacturing capabilities in the US to include the production of Licity anode binders for EV batteries.
The new production capability allows BASF to offer its Licity portfolio globally, addressing concerns over local supply of raw materials for battery manufacturers and OEMs.
BASF's water-based anode binders under the Licity portfolio enhance battery capacity, improve cycle stability, and reduce charging time, and are compatible with co-binders like carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC).
The Licity binders can be customized for various technical focuses and applications, including pure graphite or silicon-containing anodes in EVs, energy storage systems, and consumer electronics.
