A Chinese man named Zhang died after consuming a liter of strong liquor in just 10 minutes during an office party drinking contest in Shenzhen, China.
The drinking competition was initiated by Zhang's boss, who pledged a 20,000-yuan reward for anyone who could outdrink Zhang.
Zhang collapsed immediately after drinking and was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe alcohol poisoning, aspiration pneumonia, suffocation, and cardiac arrest. Despite medical efforts, he passed away.
The company where Zhang worked was shut down the day after the incident, and Shenzhen police are currently investigating the case.
