Battery technology company Coreshell has raised $24 million in funding to scale the production of its domestically-sourced lithium-ion battery anode material.
The funding round was led by Ferroglobe and Zeon Ventures, with participation from other investors.
Coreshell operates a manufacturing plant in California and plans to deliver commercial samples of its battery cells to automakers this year.
The company's breakthrough in cell design using unrefined metallurgical silicon anode material offers increased range, lighter weight, and cost reduction.
