Fedora Asahi Remix (FAR) is a project aiming to bring Windows PC gaming to Apple silicon Macs.
By combining emulators and application translators, FAR allows users to play Windows-based games on Apple Macs with M1 chips.
The project uses FEX-Emu to run x86 binaries on Arm, Wine to translate Windows commands into Linux ones, and DXVK/vkd3d-proton to convert DirectX instructions into Vulkan.
While AAA games may not run at 60 fps yet, the project prioritizes compatibility and aims to improve performance in the future.
