Norway-based Corvus Energy will supply a 25 MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery system for an electric offshore commissioning service operation vessel (eCSOV).
The eCSOV will use its large battery pack as the primary power source, with engines running only for charging at an optimized load to maximize efficiency and extend battery lifespan.
The vessel's DC grid architecture minimizes energy losses and allows for offshore charging capabilities.
Corvus Energy equipment will be delivered in 2026, and the eCSOV is expected to begin operation in 2027.
