The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) warns that console prices in the US may rise by up to 69% due to tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
An updated report by CTA assessed the impact of the tariffs, focusing on video game consoles, laptops, smartphones, and more.
If higher tariffs are applied in July, desktop PCs and smartphones could see a price increase of 24% and 30.8%, respectively, while video game consoles might spike by 69.4%.
This increase could lead to video game consoles reaching as much as $428 per unit, affecting consumer spending power and potentially impacting the release of physical games.
