Over the weekend, NASA's Mars rover Curiosity successfully drilled at 'Altadena,' enabling the collection of sample powder for analysis by CheMin and SAM instruments.
ChemCam activities included taking images of the drill hole, conducting spectroscopy on the cuttings, and capturing Mastcam images to monitor wind activity at the site.
The weekend's activities were more efficient than expected, allowing for additional science observations, including ChemCam data collection at 'Bolsa Chica' and planning mosaics at 'Texoli' butte and boxwork structures.
Environmental monitoring tasks included Mastcam imaging for wind-induced changes, RAD and REMS measurements, DAN measurements, and Navcam imaging of dust devils and clouds.
