Don’t Forget: Many DC Fast Charging Adapters Are Prohibited By Operators
- Most DC fast-charging operators in the U.S. prohibit non-approved adapters.
- Tesla only allows the use of adapters sold or provided by Tesla or other automakers.
- EVgo and Electrify America only permit the use of UL2252 certified automaker-manufactured charging adapters.
- ChargePoint does not recommend the use of adapters or extension cables, unless extensively tested and validated.
