Transit agencies in Canada are increasingly adopting electric buses for their fleets.
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has ordered a total of 340 battery-electric buses, with deliveries expected to be completed by 2026.
Other Canadian cities, such as Ottawa, Montreal, and Saskatoon, have also planned to transition to a fully electric fleet in the coming years.
While some cities have experimented with hydrogen fuel cell buses, the focus remains primarily on battery-electric buses due to cost and operational considerations.
