A hairdresser in Cardiff has been ordered to pay £3,453 (Rs 3,44,204) in compensation after firing an employee for calling in sick on a Monday.
The employee, Celine Thorley, had been warned by Christian Donnelly not to miss work on Monday after hosting a Halloween party over the weekend.
Despite texting Mr. Donnelly on Monday to say she was unwell, Ms. Thorley was fired for allegedly faking her illness, with Mr. Donnelly citing a history of Monday absences as evidence.
A tribunal ruled in Ms. Thorley's favor, citing improper dismissal procedures, and ordered Mr. Donnelly to pay compensation for her physical impairment.
