The European Commission has handed Apple its first preliminary technical instructions under the Digital Markets Act rules.
The instructions require Apple to grant connected devices such as smartwatches access to iOS connectivity features, such as notifications and device pairing.
Apple has denounced the measures, stating that they require it to provide its innovations to competitors and would expose users' personal data to third-party developers.
Many third-party developers have welcomed the changes, as it could allow devices to have access to features that Apple Watches already use.
