The European Commission has fined Apple 500 million euros and Meta 200 million euros for violating the Digital Markets Act.Apple breached the act by preventing app developers from informing iPhone users about cheaper web payments and steering them to alternative offers.The Commission ordered Apple to remove the restrictions on steering and to refrain from future non-compliant conduct.Apple was not found guilty of any wrongdoing regarding default apps on iOS, the browser choice screen, and uninstalling preinstalled apps.
