Astronomers have confirmed four mini-Earth exoplanets orbiting Barnard’s Star, the closest single star to our solar system. All four planets are smaller and less massive than Earth, with sizes ranging from about 20% to 30% the mass of Earth. The discovery was made using the Gemini North telescope in Hawaii and data from the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile. These exoplanets are most likely rocky, similar to Earth, but further confirmation is still needed.
