Abu Dhabi is implementing facial recognition technology in hotels to streamline guest check-ins and enhance security measures.
The initiative, led by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, is the first government-led facial recognition project in the emirate's hospitality sector.
The technology is currently in a pilot phase in select five-star hotels and will expand to other accommodations across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Al Dhafra region.
Abu Dhabi's adoption of facial recognition aligns with its status as the world's safest city and reflects a broader trend of digital identity services in the UAE's tourism sector.
