Japanese company ispace's Hakuto-R Mission 1 is set to make its first attempt to land on the lunar surface on the 25th of April, potentially achieving the first successful private spacecraft landing on the Moon.
The lander will also carry the United Arab Emirates Rashid rover, paving the way for future exploration on the lunar surface.
After orbiting the Moon since April 12, the Mission 1 lander will fire its main propulsion system to adjust its altitude and land near the Atlas crater on the near side of the Moon.
Ispace provides a live stream from mission control in Tokyo as the lander fires its main propulsion system to begin its landing sequence on the Moon.
