Fortnite has been restored to Apple's App Store in the United States after nearly five years of being removed and the legal battle between Apple and Epic Games.
Apple reinstated Fortnite following a ruling that it cannot reject apps for including links to outside payment methods, allowing developers to bypass the App Store's 30 percent commission.
Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers called on Apple to return Fortnite to the App Store, leading to its reinstatement the next day after Apple and Epic Games reached a resolution.
The conflict between Apple and Epic Games began in 2020 when Epic started encouraging users to pay directly through Fortnite, leading to the game being banned from the official app stores of Apple and Google.
