General Motors has hired Sterling Anderson, Tesla's former head of the Autopilot program, as its Chief Product Officer to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of its products.
Anderson previously worked on the Autopilot team at Tesla in 2015 and played a crucial role in defining Tesla's early vehicle autonomy template.
After leaving Tesla in 2016, Anderson co-founded Aurora, an autonomous trucking company, alongside experts from Waymo and Uber.
GM's recruitment of Anderson suggests the company's focus on advancing towards a driverless future and leveraging his experience in the autonomy sector.
