Earth Hour is an annual global event that takes place on the last Saturday of March, and this year, it falls on March 25th.
Millions of people from over 190 countries and territories are expected to participate.
The event encourages individuals to turn off all lights and electrical appliances for one hour, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm local time, to raise awareness of climate change challenges and energy conservation.
The World Wide Fund for Nature and its partners initiated Earth Hour in 2007 as a symbolic lights-out event, encouraging people globally to switch off their lights and spend an hour doing something positive for the planet.
