Google introduces Material 3 Expressive, an updated design language for Android and Wear OS devices with more personalization options, animations, colors, and improved fluidity.
Android 16 will feature new system animations, haptic feedback, dynamic color themes, updated quick settings toggles, and support for Live Updates.
Material 3 Expressive makeover for first-party Android apps, including resizable and rearrangeable quick settings with background blur, will be available for beta users in the future.
Wear OS 6 will also receive Material 3 Expressive, focusing on round display support, system-wide color theming, fluid animations, improved battery life, and the integration of Gemini AI Assistant.
